This statue was just unveiled at the Pompidou Centre in Paris, France.  It is enormous and enormously awesome.

The world’s oldest profession is getting into the football game as the sponsor of economically troubled Greek club Voukefala.  The Soula brothel will be the kit sponsor for the club.  Philandering helper website Ashley Madison is jealous.

There is no word on whether Soula will offer discounts to the players or customers when the club wins.

I think Wayne Rooney just professed his undying love and commitment to Liverpool FC.  At least, that’s the only thing I can think the above photo with Wayne giving the thumbs up while wearing a Lebron James (part-owner of LFC) t-shirt can mean.

Rooney’s shirt has the latin slogan Virescit Vulnere Virtus (courage becomes greater from the wound) from Lebron’s Nike line.  Wazza’s newfound love for LFC could not be any clearer.  I wonder what the plastic Manc’s will say about this?

I couldn’t think of a more asinine fucking thing for a politician to worry about.  Instead of worrying about Craig Bellamy telling the entire opposing squad they are fucking cunts and should shove it up their collective arses, perhaps the Culture Secretary should worry about why some no-balls-having, piece of shit politician shut off the power to the last song in a once-in-a-lifetime Bruce Springsteen and Paul McCartney on-stage performance at Hyde Park.

Reason #4,382 never to put your trust in transfer rumors (Spanish link):

Two years ago, Corinthians superfan Elizeu Lima was about to become a dad. At the same time, there were rumors swirling that Boca Juniors’ Juan Román Riquelme would sign with Corinthians.

Lima got excited and named his kid Riquelme Rabelo de Lima Ferreira. Then the rumor turned out to be bunk. OOPS.

This week, Riquelme and Boca Jrs visit Corinthians for the second leg of the Copa Libertadores final. Awkward.
